While the average person may be able to go out to a bookstore and look for books on particle physics, it is not very likely that the average town bookstore would possess the references and information necessary to explain the deep physics and years of theoretical understanding required to understand or contribute to the journals published by the International Press, such as the Mathematical Research Letters.

This is why university-level and professional mathematicians and physicists generally skip the bookstore when it comes to finding the right information and most relevant and recent research for their highly specialized fields within the already specialized fields of particle and theoretical physics.
